Up until 1993, the McGraw barracks were home to American soldiers and their families. Following the withdrawal of the troops, the Student Union purchased one third of the land, and converted the houses into comfortable student accommodation.
The ''No dogs allowed'' sign on the sports field is a reminder of the previous occupants of these houses. But as the students still use this patch of grass for their sports activities, this relic will also not be removed in their own interest...
