Studying with a DisabilityRead out
Unfortunately, studying with a disability is still far from being taken for granted. There are many structural shortcomings to compensate and many barriers to overcome on the way to successfully completing your studies. Not to mention the difficulties of living with a disability or chronic illness that each individual has to cope with. Not many people realise that almost 20% of all students have a disability or suffer from chronic illness. This does not only include students who are physically disabled, visually impaired, hearing impaired or have a speech impairment, but also students suffering from multiple sclerosis, cancer, HIV, rheumatism, diabetes, epilepsy or psychoses.
The Munich Student Union aims to give students with a disability or chronic illness equal rights and as much independence as possible regarding their studies and their everyday student life. We thus offer special support and services in all the various areas of student life. Naturally, we always welcome any questions or suggestions you may have.
