Dear students,

thank you for your interest in our counselling service.

If you would like to book a psychological counselling session, please call us Mon-Fri from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The phone number is ++49 89 38196-1202.

We work exclusively with scheduled appointments.

Counselling sessions can take place over the phone or in person if necessary. In this case, please take a look at our hygiene concept Link. If the corona numbers rise, we have to stop offering personal counselling again.

Please be sure to cancel any appointments you have made if you are unable to keep them so that we can reassign any appointments that become available to students seeking advice!

Our office is closed on 21-07-2021.

What do we offer

The Psychotherapeutic and Psychosocial Counselling Centre offers free counselling concerning problems related to your studies as well as personal conflicts.

The team consits of psychologists with completed or advanced psychotherapeutic training.

The centre responds to the ever-increasing pressure that students face. Within the psychological team all matters are treated confidentially and, if desired, anonymously.

Apart from individual counselling, we offer couples and family counselling and group counselling.

In which cases we help

All students who would like to talk with one of our experienced psychologists about a problem are very welcome to contact us.

For example, we offer counselling for:

  • problems related to your studies (e.g. difficulty making decisions, fear of examinations, fear of authority)
  • relationship problems, problems finding a partner, dealing with having separated
  • isolation and contact problems (e.g. social phobias)
  • problems with leaving home (e.g. becoming independent of your parents, new orientation)
  • depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, psychosomatic problems, eating disorders, compulsive disorders etc.
  • suffering caused by sexual harrasment and abuse
  • addiction (e.g. drugs, gambling, computer or internet addiction)
  • integration problems experienced by students from abroad

How we help

If you would like to have a private and confidential talk with one of our counsellors, please arrange an appointment by phone. We will then arrange an appointment as soon as possible. Our advice is free of charge and, of course, absolutely confidential. We are strictly bound to maintain confidentiality whithin the psychological team. If you need more permanent help, we can advice you on further support services. Apart from individual counselling, we also offer couple and family counselling as well as various courses.

How to contact us

The Psychotherapeutic and Psychosocial Counselling Service is available to all students studying at one of the universities served by the Munich Student Union. So, students from Rosenheim, Freising-Weihenstephan and Benediktbeuern are also very welcome to contact us. The contact details and opening hours of our Munich office are as follows:
