For the winter semester 2024/25, the Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern will provide a housing quota of 25% of vacant housing places for first-year undergraduate students.
All first-year students who apply will automatically take part in the random allocation of the housing quota. The deadline for applications is 15.08.2024.
In order to participate in the allocation of the quota, you must complete the regular application form for a place of residence by 15.08.2024. If you do not receive a place from this contingent, your application will remain on the waiting list. Applications received after 15.08.2024 can no longer be considered for the allocation of the housing quota.
Please only apply once. Duplicate applications will be deleted and only the first application will remain valid.
It is also possible to apply without a certificate of enrollment for the winter semester, but this must be uploaded at the latest when the tenancy agreement is signed.
In general, the general application conditions of Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern apply. You can specify three preferred residences in your application. However, there is no guarantee that you will be allocated a place in one of your chosen residences. If you are allocated a place in another hall of residence, you have the choice of accepting this place or not.
Legal recourse is excluded.
All participants will be informed by e-mail by the end of August at the latest about the possible receipt of a place from the accommodation contingent.
Please apply only once.
Multiple applications will be deleted.
If you want to change any details in your application (once within the first year after having applied) please send an email to: wohnen-bewerbung@stwm.de.

Find out in advance about the types of accommodation available in the individual halls of residence.
Apartments (small flats with their own cooking unit as well as shower/toilet) do not exist in all halls of residence.
If you’d like to move into an apartment, please find out in advance whether this type of accommodation is available in the halls of residence you’re interested in.

Especially in our Studentenstadt Halls there are only a limited number of accommodation units available due to ongoing renovation works.
Important! Applying for the summer semester is only possible from 15th November of the previous year; applying for the winter semester is only possible from 15th May of the same year. (This does not apply to students who have already begun their studies in Munich, Freising or Rosenheim.)
