Functions
The Munich Student Union is responsible for the economic, social, health and cultural mentoring of students at the universities that it serves. It also has the job of promoting international relationships.
A single student union always serves more than one university. Bavarian law decrees that the Munich Student Union is responsible for a total of 15 universities and over 131,000 students.
The Munich Student Union has full responsibility for the following universities:
- Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich
- Technical University, Munich (without Straubing)
- Academy of Fine Arts, Munich
- University of Music and Performing Arts, Munich
- University of Television and Film, Munich
- University of Politics, Munich
- Munich School of Philosophy (as of Winter semester 2015/2016)
- University of Applied Sciences, Munich
- Technical University of Applied Sciences Rosenheim
- University of Applied Sciences, Weihenstephan (without Triesdorf)
- Catholic University of Applied Sciences, Munich department and Benediktbeuern department
- SDI Munich with the International University SDI Munich (BAföG enforcement university only)
- International School of Management (Campus Munich) - starting Winter semester 17/18 with the first semesters (without BAföG enforcement)
- University of the Bavarian Economy (Campus Munich)
- Blocherer School for free and applied Arts (without BAföG enforcement)
For the following universities, the Munich Student Union only handles BAföG enforcement:
- Military University, Munich
- University of Applied Management, Erding (incl. Treuchtlingen)
- Munich Business School University of Applied Sciences
- Universities of psychotherapy
- University of the public service in Bavaria
