New accommodation in the Chiemgaustraße Hall of Residence

Unpack your stuff and find your bearings – that’s what the first of the roughly 266 students were busy with when moving into the newly built rooms and apartments of the hall of residence Chiemgaustraße in March 2022.

The three building contain 166 single apartments, the type of accommodation that is in high demand. There are also shared flats for two and three people as well as other types of acommodation.

The three completed buildings were the first stage of one of our largest construction projects. Due to the more effective utilization of the space available, almost twice as many students, i.e. roughly 800, will be able to live in the halls of residence once all construction work has been completed than was the case before the renovation.


The Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern is thus able to provide urgently required affordable accommodation in Munich and can contribute to taking pressure off the student housing market.
