Since 1st April 2024, the Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern (STWM) has also been responsible for the Ukrainische Freie Universität (UFU). UFU students can therefore now use the services provided by the Studierendenwerk, for instance, the advisory services or get meals at a reduced price at the University Gastronomy’s facilities.
The UFU is a private university, located in Munich, which was founded in Vienna in 1921. The university mainly offers their lectures face-to-face, but also online, for example for students who live in Ukraine.
“We are very happy that we are part of the uni family the Studierendenwerk is responsible for and that our more than 400 students now have the opportunity to use the important services provided by this institution”, says Prof. Dr. Maria Pryshlak, President of the UFU.
“We warmly welcome the UFU as the 16th university in our jurisdiction and look forward to our cooperation”, says Claudia Meijering, Director of the Studierendenwerk, regarding this welcome change.
In total, the Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern is in charge of more than 137,000 students in Munich and the surrounding area and for instance supports its students with accommodation, gastronomic services, advisory services and with financing their studies.
