Reduced Deutschland-Ticket for Students (29€ Ticket)

Reduced Deutschland-Ticket for students, also known as the 29-euro ticket, to be continued in the 2024 Summer Semester

As in the previous semester, students can again use the reduced Deutschland-Ticket for only €29 a month in the 2024 Summer Semester. The same conditions (subscription!) apply as for the regular Deutschland-Ticket, allowing you to use local and regional public transport throughout Germany. The 29-euro ticket will continue to only be sold by the MVG for the MVV area.

Even if you already had a subscription for the winter semester, you must renew your subscription for the summer semester. Your subscription from the winter semester will end automatically on 31st March 2024 (except ISM). If you already used the ticket in the winter semester, you will be informed in writing by the MVG that your subscription will expire at the end of the winter semester.

You’ll require your up-to-date certificate of enrolment (Immatrikulationsbescheinigung) for the 2024 Summer Semester as proof in order to continue your subscription for the 2024 Summer Semester. You need to upload the document in the customer portal to take out a new subscription. The subscription will then again be valid until the end of the summer semester 2024. As before, you can always cancel it by the 10th day of every month for the end of that month.

We recommend you to take out a new subscription as quickly as possible (as soon as you have your certificate of enrolment for the new summer semester) so that you definitely have your ticket by 1st April 2024. The 29-euro ticket is available both as a phone ticket via the MVG app and as a chip card. We recommend choosing the phone ticket as the chip cards are only available to a limited extent and long delivery times are to be expected.
