As a student at the Technical College, Weihenstephan, Munich or Rosenheim University, you can pay, cash-free, with your student card. For all other guests, there is the Legic-card (which also functions as a photocopy card at many university machines). The answers to the most frequently asked questions are available bellow:
Where can I obtain a Legic-card?
The cards are available at the service bureaus/infopoints in the canteens.
What do I require to be issued with a card?
Do be issued with a card, please bring a valid matriculation certificate from one of the universities under our duristriction and your personal ID card/passport. To obtain a staff card, proof of employment and your personal ID card/passport is required. Persons outwith these two categories can be issued with a guest card.
How much does a Legic-card cost?
A Legic-card costs €10 (€6 deposit + €4 to spend). Please take care of your card. The €6 deposit will only be refunded in exchange for an undamaged card. Is is a good idea to note down the serial number on the back of your card, so that you can identify it if you lose it.
How do I charge up my Legic-card?
There are top-up machines in the canteens and cafeterias which allow you to charge up your Legic-card using cash or an EC card. Hold your Legic-card up to the card reader and wait until the new value is displayed - only then is it charged up.
How can I find out the current value on my card?
Hold your card up to the card reader on a top-up machine or snacks/drinks automat, and the current value will be displayed.
How do I pay with my card?
PLace your card on the card reader at the till. The display first show the initial value on the card, and then the new value, after your purchase has been charged.
Where do I return my card to?
You can return your card, at any time, to the service bureaus/infopoints in the canteens. Any value on the card will be paid to you, along with the €6 deposit if the card is undamaged.
