Come to Munich – be at homeRead out
Since the winter semester 2010/11, the project "Come to Munich – be at home" has been offering German and international students the opportunity to take part in an international one-semester programme, for free. Students can train their intercultural understanding by learning and experiencing things together.
The intercultural workshop sessions deal with the differences and similarities between cultures. The aim is to broaden one's own perspective and to become sensitized to one's own and other cultures. During the semester, the students can choose three additional cultural events, which encourage the participants to reflect and share their ideas with each other.
At the end of the semester, each student receives a certificate for their soft skills. Since the winter semester 2021/22, the entire programme is held in English. That enables more international students to participate and offers German students the chance to improve their English language skills.
The programme provides the opportunity to get ECTS credits at the TUM (check the semester programme at Carl von Linde-Akademie) and at the University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule München), General Electives of the Department 13. You can also receive financial support, if you want to attend a language course to improve your German regarding technical and academic language at "Deutschkurse bei der Universität München” from this list. If you are interested in receiving support, please send us a short email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
