On Thursday, 05th of July 2018, the Student Union Munich (Studentenwerk) and the Film Festival Munich proudly present the movie AMATEURS by Gabriela Pichler.
A German retail chain is thinking about setting up a shop in a small Swedish town called Lafors. But the investors are still to be convinced of the site. But how can this be achieved without money? Spontaneously, the municipal council decides to recruit some high school students to make a promotional movie - ideally a super-cheap one - to sway the decision of the investor. The two teenagers Aida and Dana film their every day lives with their smartphones from a quite critical angle. As the movie is not exactly what the council expected, it decides to order a professional promotional movie. That's how a tragicomic sort of battle begins...
After the movie, Gabriela Pichler answers all the questions to her artwork.
Just a few steps towards Glockenbach quarter, the Studentenwerk München invites the first 100 students to a free drink (soft drink or beer) to the bar called 404 page not found. All other visitors are welcome to join the get-together in the iconic bar (made by some of the Café Kosmos staff) to enjoy a chilly after-movie beer.
And it's like always at cultureclubbing: free entry for students!
How to get free tickets for the movie?
Free tickets are available at the box offices of the film festival at the cultural centre of the Gasteig from 21st June 2018 on: just show your student ID. From 29th June 2018 on, the tickets are available also at all the other box offices of the Film Festival: City Kinos, RIO Filmpalast, Filmmuseum, Gloria Palast, HFF Munich, Kinos Münchner Freiheit, Theatiner Film, and Filmtheater Sendlinger Tor.
