"Kita Herzerl München" Daycare Center
The "Kita Herzerl München" is located between Munich University and the German Heart Institute. The establishment can be accessed via the tram lines 20,21,22 from Hauptbahnhof (Munich Central Station), at the stop "Hochschule München Lothstraße".
The daycare center was opened in September 2013. The establishment is an energy efficient and environmentally friendly passive house. Large window facades allow lots of light into the building throughout the day. The generously designed house offers two floors for the children to explore and play in. Each of the five groups have their own group room, nap room and wash room. All rooms contain child-suitable furniture and age-appropriate material. The activity room can be used by every group once per week to play games, exercise and gather new experiences. The building is connected to a large garden, where there is plenty of space for the children to explore and experience nature throughout the seasons. There are also opportunities for the children to play with various vehicles, build sand castles and have the occasional picnic.
Students and employees of the Munich University of Applied Sciences, as well as employees of the German Heart Institute of Munich currently residing in Munich will be prioritised. If there are still spaces available, the daycare centre will also take in the children of parents studying at a university supported by the Munich Student Union.
