The student nursery Olydorfspatzen is located in the Olympiadorf. The Olympiadorf was constructed in Munich in 1972 for the Olympic Games. Back then, the athletes resided in the Bungalows. Nowadays, primarily students live there. The Olympiapark is directly nearby and can be easily accessed by foot. The site of the Olympiadorf also has a shopping alley with bakeries, a supermarket, doctors, pharmacies, a post office and restaurants. The atmosphere there resembles a peaceful village. It has a good infrastructure and idyllic surroundings due to the Olympiapark. The U3 line (Olympiazentrum) is one of the central Munich underground lines. Via the U3, the LMU can be accessed within a couple of minutes. The traffic connection to Munich's other universities and colleges is also good. The nursery is primarily attended by North Munich and all other districts as well as families living in the Olympiadorf and therefore within close proximity of the nursery.
The establishment premises are located in the ground floor of the old canteen, in the university building with the Advice Network, library and administration. The rooms were refurbished in October 2012. Due to their modern design and large glass facades, the rooms are bright and friendly. Each group has access to its own group room, quiet room and bathroom. The wardrobes for both groups are located in the hallway, which also provides additional space to play for the children. In addition to the office, which is also used for team and parent meetings, there is also a kitchen, a materials room, a wash room with an employee bathroom and a storage room which can also be used to store pushchairs. The establishment also includes a garden only a few metres away from the nursery at the edge of the bungalow area. The garden contains a climbing tower with a slide, a green area and a sand pit with a water pump.
Our establishment can be attended by children of parents who are studying at a university supported by the Munich Student Union, as well as children of employees of the Student Parent-Child-Initiatives e.V. sponsoring association and the Student Union who are currently residing in Munich.
