Intercultural workshops and cultural activities in the winter semester 2022/23
Short overview
Who can participate?
Students from all universities the Munich Student Union is responsible for can participate in the programme "Come to Munich – be at home".
How is the programme structured?
The programme consists of intercultural workshop sessions (1.) and cultural events (2.).
1. Intercultural workshop sessions
Intercultural competence – what does that actually mean? Do misunderstandings due to interculturality occur and can I avoid them? Those are the type of questions to which all the participants together seek to provide answers during the intercultural workshops. Teamwork, group discussions and simulations lead to unexpected insights and tremendous changes in perspective. A great basis for personal development regarding soft skills but also for being able to use this knowledge to expand your personal network throughout the world.
Participating in all intercultural workshop sessions is mandatory.
2. Cultural events
The cultural events are intended to promote networking and encourage students to reflect and engage in intercultural communication. You must register for and attend three events from the events programme below.
What exactly is required?
For students (HM or TUM), who want ECTS credits:
1. participation in all three intercultural workshop sessions from one group (A or B)
2. participation in three events of your own choice from the programme below
3. group presentation & reflection protocol (3 to 5 pages).
For students from all other universities:
1. participation in all three intercultural workshop sessions from one group (A or B)
2. participation in three events of your own choice from the programme below
3. group presentation & final comment (1 to 5 sentences).
What do I require for online workshops?

- zoom app
Intercultural workshops
You must decide on one workshop group and must have time on all dates of the workshop sessions. Mixing dates of both groups is not possible. The workshops are held in English.
