Results of the Satisfaction Survey 2021

The Survey

Altogether, 472 people (517 the previous year) took part in the satisfaction survey. The University Gastronomy’s 41 evaluated gastronomic services were made up of 7 canteens, 11 StuBistrosMensa, 10 StuCafés, 8 StuLounges and 5 Espresso Bars.

The questionnaire on our University Gastronomy contains 18 questions, such as satisfaction with the variety of the menus, what the meals taste like and how freshly-prepared they are.

The rating scale for the individual questions offers following rating possibilities:
1 = very dissatisfied (“sehr unzufrieden”),
2 = dissatisfied (“unzufrieden”),
3 = good average, solid performance (“guter Durchschnitt, solide Leistung”),
4 = good, above-average performance (“gut ausgeprägte, überdurchschnittliche Leistung”),
5 = very satisfied, very good performance (“sehr zufrieden, ausgeprägte Leistung”).

With most of the questions, it is also possible to leave a personal comment in an extra field.

Due to the corona pandemic and the resulting strong limitations regarding our gastronomic services, the number of participants in the survey in the year 2021 is once again not sufficient to be able to be considered representative. In the fourth quarter of 2021, approx. one third of our services were finally able to reopen.

If you compare the results of 2021 with those from 2020, you can nevertheless see a positive trend. For instance, our guests’ overall satisfaction with the services of the Munich Student Union’s University Gastronomy improved from 3.3 in 2020 to 3.7 in 2021. The ratings provided for all the various criteria and services resulted in averages between 3.5 and 4.2, the previous year still showed averages ranging between 3.3 and 4.0.

Considering the fact that we were providing our services under the conditions of the Covid pandemic and were partly hindered by renovation works going on, such as in the Leopoldstraße Canteen, we are very happy with the results. With a lot of effort and complying with immense hygiene and safety measures, the department University Gastronomy managed to offer as much service as possible regarding the regulations from politics, official authorities and universities.
