Students who have a child are generally subjected to greater levels of financial stress than fellow, childless students. As a further contribution to help ease this financial stress, a free lunch is available for students' children (aged six and under) in all of the Munich Student Union's canteens.
Upon submission of a valid matriculation certificate (Immatrikulationsbescheinigung) and their child's birth certificate, parents can be issued with a 'Kinderkarte' (a children's legic-card) at any one of our service offices or info points (against a refundable deposit of €6). How does the Kinderkarte benefit students with a child? Whenever a student parent, accompanied by his/her own child/children, purchases more than one meal in one of our canteens, the least expensive meal is free of charge. This offer is limited to one lunch and one child per day. A lunch is defined as one main dish plus a side order or two side orders and no main dish.
