Trip to the famous Neuschwanstein und Hohenschwangau castles

Neuschwanstein, the most famous fairy-tale castle in the world, was built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria (1845 - 1886). The romantic monarch and his loved ones lived out their dreams in this fairy-tale labyrinth. Although designed inside and out to look like it was built in the Middle Ages, the castle was equipped with the most modern technology of the era (first telephone in Bavaria, electric lighting, the most up-to-date kitchen utensils and sanitary facilities etc.)

The smaller Hohenschwangau Castle (the castle of his King Ludwig II’s childhood) was erected in neo-gothic style upon the ruins of a castle dating to back to the early Middle Ages by Ludwig’s father, King Max II (1811-1864). Enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the Pöllat Gorge from the Marienbrücke (‘Marien Bridge’) and relax with a cup of tea in the regal castle bistro. Travel is by train (Bayern-Ticket). Transport costs and entrance fees to the castles are included in the price of the trip.
