Cultureclubbing goes Dok.fest gave visitors a chance to look behind the curtains of one of the biggest Circuses in northern Europe. Two of the biggest families of artists dream about uniting their Dynasties, as Patrick Berdino, one director’s grandson, and Merrylu Casselly, member of the other family, perform award-winning acts together. Behind the stage they are a couple. Will their love withstand the hard work they face, and especially the high expectations of both families? It doesn’t get easier when the Casselys receive an unbelievable offer from within America…

The director Anders Riis-Hansen followed the Danish circus around for a year. Breath-taking pictures show the fascinating world of circus performers and their success, but also the hard work the protagonists behind these impressive acts must face. The film was shown in its original edit in German, Danish and English with English subtitles.

After a discussion with the director, the second part of cultureclubbing followed: The Party, also free for all students! The Harry Klein opened its doors and shook the walls with a line up worth seeing: DJs JOEL ALTER live (Uncanny Valley | Kontra Musik | Berlin), as well as residents PAUL TIEDJE and TOBIAS FELBERMAYR (both Harry Klein | München) stood behind the turntables. Visuals were done by tried and true Video Artists jandoon & proximals (harrykleinvisuals/capsolé).

The event took place on the 8th May as cooperation of the Munich Student Union, the International Documentary Festival and the Harry Klein Club. Cultureclubbing regularly combines a cultural highlight with an after-show party – free for all students!
