The Munich Student Union bought and renovated the only building left standing on the grounds of the once Stetten Baracks, after all the others had been torn down. Nothing about this building reminds one that it used to be part of a millitary casern, and it now offer students a total of 245 modern apartments and rooms. Along with the halls of residence in Chiemgaustraße and Hedwig-Dransfeld-Allee, it is the third building of military origin that now provides students in Munich with a home. The halls of residence are situated next to the new housing estate on the Ackermannbogen, between the Olympic park and Schwabing.
